Summary

Competition in the Nordic Telecommunication Sectors is the fourth publication edited by the Nordic competition authorities. In chapter one, the report presents a brief comparison of prices and market concentration on markets for fixed line telephony, mobile telephony and broadband Internet access. Particular attention is drawn to prices for international calls. In Chapter two, sector specific regulation is described and discussed in a cross-sector perspective and with focus on the challenges encountered when regulating industries undergoing rapid technological development. In the chapters 3-6, economic theory is used to describe the underlying problems on the markets that give rise to most of the remaining competition problems experienced today.
